On the Move!

Well the moment has finally come - it's taken weeks of blood, sweat and tears, but this is the last Artful Adventures post on Blogger.  The next will be brought to you courtesy of Wordpress.  So, it will go quiet on here for the next week - there's still lots to do to get the new site right, and I'm sure that even when it does go live it will have it's share of teething troubles.  I shall try to ensure as smooth a transition as possible, but if after a week or so you find you're no longer getting a feed through, then please re-subscribe!  The address is remaining the same, (www.artful-adventures.co.uk) it just won't be routed through Blogger any more.  I have to admit that I'm relying on the expertise of my personal technical advisor to sort it all out, as I'm not 100% sure how it works myself!

So, keeping fingers crossed, the all new, improved Artful Adventures will be back soon in its new home!

Competition Prize

The prize for the Artful Kids competition was a piece of styled artwork created from your child's painting or drawing.  The winning entry, complete with photograph, was revealed in the last post, so this time I thought I would display a photo of the styled artwork created from that entry.  The image will be presented on a 30x42cms canvas, and would normally be worth £95.00.  I omitted the stripey pot, because as a 3-dimensional object, it doesn't translate too well onto a 2-dimensional artwork.  It's for this reason that collages are not really suitable for the process.  Also, I considered that it was the flowers which were the really personal and distinctive part of the artwork, so I decided to focus on those.  Obviously the finished canvas won't have the Artful Kids watermark on it!

May Featured Artist and Competition Winner

The Featured Artist for this month, is also the Artful Kids Competition winner.  Fiona Reeves submitted this picture by her 5 year old daughter Erin, which I felt was perfect for styling.  Watch this space in a few days time to see her prize - a finished canvas of styled artwork created from the image.

The monthly Featured Artist is normally selected from images uploaded to the Artful Kids Flickr Group.  If anyone has any masterpieces (drawings and paintings) created by children under 12 that they would like to contribute to the group, your contributions would be very welcome.
